Theme of the week w/c 11/05/15

Good evening chums,

I finally have a bit of time so I sat down, shuffled the cards and asked upstairs what I need to know or think about this week and I was given the 8 of Swords. Humph.

I am not a big fan of the Swords in general and the 8 isn't much fun... But, they are of merit and are obviously required for balance. I am well aware that you can't live life purely in the spirit of emotion or creativity but you need the intellect and the ability to look at life from a detached viewpoint occasionally. I do appreciate its clean lines in matters of ethics though, I suppose I just don't like the Swords so much when it relates to me.

The 8 of Swords, reminds us that no matter how tied or restricted we are, how lost and confused by life in general or by something in particular, there is a way out. Eventually.

Most of our problems are self inflicted to varying degrees, something we didn't do eventually catches up with us, something we said comes back to bite us on the arse and sometimes these things snowball.

The Swords are about the intellect so use the Swords energy to help find a solution. Clear your mind of clutter. Ignore the myriad of imaginary problems that our mind is throwing our way based on what if's, maybe's and "well it could happen" (no aliens or zombies :) honestly).

Find the real root of the issue, my favourite saying so far this year is "you have to see it to heal it". What is the actual problem? can you fix it yourself? Will you apologise if that is required? admit you messed up somewhere along the line?

Of course, it may not be in your power to fix it alone. ASK for help, honestly it's not the end of the world to ask someone to help you. We all need help, and think to yourself, how often have you been genuinely pleased to help someone? it's rarely a chore so give someone the pleasure of being able to help you if they can.

Have a good week

BB

  1. Yes, the 8 of Swords is one of 'those' cards! I did chuckle to myself when you mentioned about saying things which bite us on the arse.... That's usually me.... Unfortunately!

    1. Hi Claudia,
Thank you for commenting, that is so kind of you. Yes, we are usually masters of our own misfortune if we look back far enough... I think we all channel our inner Hagrid "I shouldn't have said that" :)

    2. Oh yes! Ha ha. I usually think of Homer Simpson when he said (whilst accidentally saying what he was internally thinking) "did I just say the loud bit quietly and the quiet bit loudly?"
